MR. ISITT AT RANGIORA.
In opening the recruiting meeting in High street. .Rangiora. on Saturday night, the Mayor (Mr C*. I. Jennings) informed the large crowd present that eight of the nine men who enlisted on the previous Saturday had passed the medical . tost. The only man to be turned down was one who.se eyesight was not up to standard. He then introduced Mr L. 31. Jsitt. 31.P.. who made a verystirring appeal for recruits, exhorting fa there, mothers, sis-
ters and sweethearts to use their influence with the young men and send them forward. Mr lsitt brightened lus appeal with various experiences anil anecdotes, which found favour with the large crowd present, and lie was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks. Two men enlisted on the spot, and the meeting closed with cheers for Mr L. M. IsittT Mr J. S. Guthrie (for the use of iiis car), the men in the trenches and those who are going, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. __________
