VETERANS' ASSOCIATION.
The annual general meeting of the Canterbury Veterans' Association took placo on Saturday. Mr J. Tirabre-11 (president) occupied the chair. The balance-sheet showed a good credit balance. The election of officers resulted as follows Patron. His Excellency the Governor: • rice-patron, Col. R. A. Chaffey, V.D., and Colonel H. Slater. V.D.; president. Colonel F. B. Creswell. V.D.; vicepresidents, Lieutenant H. S. Newman, Lieutenant C. E. Gwatkin, Messrs D. Lee, W. J. Ellison, and G. Cresswell; secretary. Mr j" Timbrell: lion, treasurer, Mr R.. Cambridge; auditors. Messrs M. Hartigan and H. Macintosh; chaplain. Rev. A. H. Norris. The matter of supporting the Soldiers' Queen was considered, and it was decided to form a sub-section. The report of the North Brighton Returned Soldiers' ConvaJeacent Home was very satisfactory.
