Malion has received particulars of the affray at Papua, when natives attacked the police, who were endeavouring to arrest a murderer. One constable was fatally speared and two others were wounded. The one remaining policeman gallantly went to his comrades' assistance and killed five of their assailants. Next day the party attacked Patrol-officer Blyth, who shot three of them.
