. ■» —— A social will be held to-night in the Halswell Hall to bid farewell to Messrs Milne. Fever, o'.Sliaughnessy, Gebbie. and Cupples. on the eve of their departure for Trentham. A meeting of the timber, buildine, and furniture trades, to which ladies are specially invited, in connexion with the industries section of th.-» Queen Carnival, will be held lon Saturdav evening at the Art Gallerv, Armagh street. A meeting will be held in the Wharentti School ou Saturday night, at 3 o'clock, to consider the advisability of holding a school picnic.
