PERSONAL ITEMS.
Dr. Truby King arrived yesterday morning from Wellington. Messrs A. F. Roberts, A. McKellar, and F. A. Price arrived from Wellington by yesterday's ferry steamer. The Rev. Dr. Weeks, vicir-elcct of -Nelson Cathedral, is expected sto reach. Wellington to-morrow, en his*way from England to Nelson. The Rev. Brother Egbert, who has been teaching in the Mariat Brothers' School in Tiraaru for the. past nine years, six' of which he has occupied the position of director, has been transferred on promotion to Auckland, and will leave on Wednesday next. Mr D. Cuthbert, Superintendent of the Pacific Cable Board, was a passenger by the Niagara, which reached Auckland from America on Monday. Mr Cuthbert has been transferred from the Board's station at Bamfield, Vancouver Island, to take charge of tho Auckland station. At a meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Sheep Owners' Union, held yesterday resolutions were passed expressing regret and sympathy with the relatives of tho late Mr W. O. Rutherford, of Montrose Station, who had been a member of the Union since its inception, and tho late Mr F. H. Pvne.
