At the Tiallarat Meeting on Derombcr Ist and 2nd. Mr F. J. Mitchell's six-yoar-old gelding El Bro, by Soult from Momi. by llotchkiss from First. Love, by Nordenfeldt. won three races. Tho well-known old performer Enc shattered his off front pastern after going about half a mile in tho Kosohill December Handicap, and was pulled up. He was subsequently destroyed. Work at Riccarton yesterday morning was for tbe most part uninteresting. Tiie New Brightou Derby winner, Prince -Akwood, will be a warm favourite, and his display will be watched with much interest. Minstoa will have a large following, and should be in the tiring-line towards tho finish. Little Tib has been responsible for some good work lately, and in face of tho brilliant mile ho ian at the November Meeting, is nicely handicapped. Princess Sherwood read* well with 3soo off the limit, and the way she won the November Handicap (i n saddle) at tho last Metropolitan Meeting, suggests that she has only to repeat her form to keep all the opposition busy.
