« — (srECur, to ' the rness.") WELLINGTON, Deceiubcr 13. The total annual liability under tbe "War Pensions Act lias risen to a little under £-0,009. Pensions amounting to £13.185 pet- year, and allowances aggregating £1017, have new been granted. The pensions are distributed as follows Fifty soldiers receivc £2874, an average of £07 per year; 88 wives of soldiers killed or disabled receive £77& ii, an average of £&> per year; 250 other dependents receivc £74&<5. an average of per year. Of members of tilts forces who have applied for aid, 50 have been granted pensions, 60 have been granted allowances, -5 have been declined, 11 cases have boon adjourned, «nd 3 are,on hand, making a total oi 119. Of dependents, 338 have heori granted pensions, one granted an allow. .Tiite. JO applications have been declined. 1 adjourned, and 19 are on hand. On!y -'2 application,-; are oil band, and t/:<* Board ho|H»s to hr.vo these dealt with before Christmas.
