♦ STUDENTS AT THE FRONT. 'At the annual presentation of prizes to tho pupils of tho Technical College Day School yesterday afternoon, tho director, Mr J. H. Howell, in his report, stated that the whole of the .siihool lit© had been lived with A vivid realisation of tho dark background of the war. They wore linked with tho events passing at the other sido of tho world through old boys who are taking their share in them. Two of them, Ameral ;-.i>uott and Ralph Feldwick, had given thoir Jives lor the cause of justbe and freedom. The following weiw known to be Serving with the colony^:—H. Barr, J. Beattic, A. J. Bowden, R. Brosnan, L. H. Buchanan, F. ttr.ettel, Cooke, A. Cooksley, J. H. Clarke, It. Dauber, E. Lowe, F. Price, F. (.'"uontin. L. Revelev. H. Tavlor, A. O. W«rd, G. Warren, K. G. Wood, A. V. Wb'tls, J. F. Stinnear, while a number <*t < others had enlisted and were ishortly going forward. Mr Banchnp left the staff in June, intending to take service a s a naval engineer, ibut on arriving in London found that thoro was greater need for his services in the Munitions Department, and has since been working in that branch. Mr A. H. Jones, who was formerly Registrar and Commercial Instructor, and was teaching in Hamburg when war broke out. had been interned at Ruhleben, and had sent a very interesting account of the life of a prisoner of »vnr.
