A general meeting of the Patriotic Motor Carnival Committer was held in the Pioneer Club rooms on Monday, Air P. R. Climie presiding. Tho Motor-cycling Committee suggest :d that jfc would be advisable to cancel the Red Croes despatch-riding competition*, as they were thought to bo too dangerous. Mr Woodman proposed that the rare for light-weight machines should be extended to fifteen mi!c« instead of ten mile?. Tho pixmosal was adopted. It was decided that Mr G. Toretonacn, of I Palmerston North, should be appointed handicapper for the events, in addition to a local haiidicapper. It whs decided to alter the name of the motor-cycling championship events from " New Zealand championships" to "Dominion championships." The Advertising Committee vras instructed to get posters and tickets printed immediately and the former posted and sent out throughout b:th islands. were also made to form a Ladies' Committee to arrange for the catering of afternoon tea and refreshments. Mr J. B. Merrett wag elected convener.
