! OUTBREAK OF DYSENTERY. (PIIESS association telegram.) AUCKLAND, December 13. The Southern Cross, which has arrived from Norfolk Island, reports a sovero epidemic of dysentery at the Solomon Islands and at Santa Cruz. At the hitter place three thousand natives ,havo died, and many other* are in a bad condition. At the So.onions the disease is not so marked. Four hundred natives died, at Vilia, New Hebrides. It was reported that two men had landed from a French steamer, tho Pi Vauchi, and stated that tho latter lost her propeller on tho voyage to tho Hebrides. Twelve men were on board. Tho Government steamer searched for four, days but was unsuccessful. At Reef Islands it was reported that one of tho deacons had been murdered, but the crew from the Southern Cross found him on the reef, exhausted, and not seriously injured. They returned him to tho island.
