POULTRY MARKET. Messrs J. B. Merrett and Co. had an entry of 3000 birds for their Christmas sale. Many of tho birds lacked priming, although those farmers who had fed their poultry well were amply rewarded with liigh prices. Owing to tho dry season, and the shortage of grass, goslings are not bo.forward as desired. Hens aro easier in price, consequent on heavy sides induced through rising price of feeds. Ducklings aro scarce, and prinuvbirds are in great demand. Tablo chickens realised os 6d to 10s oil, ducklings 5s to 9s 4d, goslings 6s to 10s 6d, ducks Os to 7s, pullets 3s 6d to 9s, turkeys lis to 275. all per pair. A. 13. Sands and Co. report a good entry at their yards on Saturday, when prime table birds realised good prices, although hens v.-pro not in very keen demand. Following were the prices realised: —Prime table chickens, 6s 6d to 10s per paid: ducklings. <k Id to 9s per pair; ducks. Os to 6s -kl. geese. 6s 6d to 10s Gd ; goslings, 3s 3d to 10s 6d: hens, 2s 3d to -Is.
TATTEfISALL'S HORSE BAZAAR. Messrs H. Matson and C'o. had an entry of 47 horses on Saturday. The quality, tnken all round, was fair, a few useful sorts bving entered, but the continuous drought is having a bad effect on all classes of stock as far as .sales are concerned, and Saturday's market was no exception to this rule. Among the on try a consignment of throe and four-year-old hacks from the Xynrion Kt.tate. Wniau. These v.ero first-class well-grown sorts, and competition for them was, tjood at moderate prices.
