RAILWAY EMPLOYEES' SICK BENEFIT SOCIETY.

The Christchurch Railway Employees* Sick Benefit Society held its thirty-«ighth annual meeting in the Oddfellows' Huli. Selwyn street, Aldington, last week, Mr G. X. Maxell presiding-. There was a largo attendance of members. Tho committee's report stated {•hat the year commcnctd with 257 members. During tho year 59 members joined, 17 resigned, 15 of whom had left to go and s?rvo their country (which the committee wished to be placed on rccord). Three members Lad been superannuated, three transferred, and two died, leaving a membership of 231. Tho Superannuation Benefit Fund, established by the committee in June, had afforded assistance to eevcrid members .(who had been laid aside through a lengthy sickness) by paying their superannuation. The meeting endorsed the action of the committee in their establishing this' fund.
