; AKAROA. t The annual meeting of the Akaroa . County Council was held at Duvau- . ehelle on Wednesday last, Messrs J. D. . Bruce, C. 13. Thacker. E. Hav, S. R, • Thacker, F. W. Williams, "and T. j Conway being present. Mr J. D. Bruce - was re-elected chairman. The Akaroa . and Wainui Road Board agreed to take 1 over th© control of that porticTn of the , main Akaroa road between tho Smithy, I Barry's Bay, and the Duvauchclle [ Hotel, and requested the Council to . declare the Robinson's Bay Wharf road I a district road. It was decided to in- . struct the solicitor to prepare a special 5 order dealing with the two roads. Mr Birks, Government Electrical Engin- . eer. submitted a new proposal in conl ncxion with the scheme to bring Lake , Coleridge electrical energy to the p county. Before engaging an engineer . to report on the scheme, it was decided to submit the proposed charges to . residents, to gain an idea of what *upl port the proposal would receive in the . event of the matter being proceeded | with..The chairman reported that the j Akaroa boat slip was now complete, and recommended the Council to make a I small charge for the use of it. the Droceods to bo devoted towards the upkeep and improvement of the slip.
