Two school "iris. Miss Doris Pearson and Miss Connie Sutton, made sweets and other materials for a bazaar whioh they held at the residence of Mr and Mrs Pearson, Fitzgerald street. The receipts amounted to £1 7s. This sum they brought in on Saturday for "The Press" Soldiers' Christinas Gift Fund.

NAMES OF DONORS. We feci sure that many ot, the soldiers who receive the Christmas Gill* from New Zealand will be glad to sei'd an acknowledgment to the donors. .To facilitate this being done, wo shail bo glad if all who have contributed to the fund will send us thpir names and a--dresses plainly written, so that these can bo enclosed in the parcels. Tbcic must, however, be forwarded at once as the parcels are now being packed at the depot of Lady Liverpool's Committee. It is roughly estimated that a parcel of comforts is being sent for each. -5s contributed, and that Is will purchase through the Overseas Club a packet of tobacco and cigarettes. The Executive Committee of Lady Liverpool's Committee have decided to send ) £300 to tho Overseas Club for the latter purpose, so that an ample supply of tobacco and cigarettes is assured. It is particularly requested that the names and addresses should be sent either on a postcard or in an envelope, plainly inscribed "Donors' names." Where tho donation has been sent under initials or a pen-name, these should bo added for the purpose of identification. Some of our readers have sent their names and addressee on an envelope, with a sheet or two of paper inside. This is an excellent idea. A "reply postcard" would also be very suitable for the purpose. CHRISTMAS GREETINGS. An artistically-printed leaflet conveying Christmas greetings from the Editor and readers of "The Press" has now been prepared for enclosure in each Parcel of comforts provided by readers

of this, journal. On the first page it bears the inscription:— "A Christmas sift with greetings to the men of Canterbury, New Zealand, fighting for the Empire.—From the Editor and readers of 'The Press,' Christchurch, New Zealand, with the kind co-operation of the Committee of the Christchujch Brunch of l>ady Liverpool's Fund. (Mrs Holland, Mayoress of Christchurcb, president.) Christmas, 1915." The Gccond and third panes of the leaflet- contain the following:— MESSAGES FROM HOME. (Sent by readers of "The Pross.") The peace of Heaven is their* that lift tbscr e words In stuch a just and charitable war. —Shakespeare, "King John" (Act 1., Sc. 2). "To all tho loyal heart* wbo long To keep our English Empire ■wholet To all o;ir nobl* sons, the strong Xew England of the Southern Pole!" —Tennyson.
