A DOMESTIC TRAGEDY.
MAN KILLED IN HIS BED, AEBEST OF THE WIFE. (press ASSOCIATION TI LICK All.) AUCKLAND, September -~>- Thomas Perry, a farmer at Ramarama, 2o miles south of Auckland, was killed by a shot from a gun "while in bod withiis wifo at 3 o'clock this morning, the circumstances pointing to coldblooded murder. Perry was about 40 years of ase. Ho leaves a family of nine children, ranging in ago from 14 years to two months. Perry returned from a visit to tho city last night. Tho family were on thoir usual happy terms, and retired at 11 o'clock. Mrs Perry states that she was awakened by a gunshot at 3 a.m. She heard her husband making a noise, and saw that ho Had been shot in the head. The eldest son John, who was sleeping in tho adjoining room, said that lie alM> heard a gunshot. On iato his parents' room he asked his mother what was the matter with his lather, and 6he replied that -somebody had blown his head off. She told him to call tho neighbours, and he did so. Dr. Brookfield. ol' Papakurn, was sent for, and on arriving with the police at 4.4.3, Perry was dead. His head was very badly shattered. September 2G. A sensational development has occurred in connexion with tho shooting of Thomas Perry at Ramarama. ChiefDetectivo Macmaho.u and SergeantDetective Hollis arrested Mrs Amelia Perrj-, widow of the deceased, at 2 p.m. to-day, at Ramarama,, and charged her with the murder. Mrs Perry is 31 years j of age.
