. «- MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of th© North Canterbury Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held yesterday. Present: Mr F. Horrell (chairman), Mesdames Christie, Green, and' Wilson, Messrs J. Davison, S. Andrew, H. J. Otley, Wm. Spencer, J, D. Hall, O. Bradley, W. W. Tanner, W. H. Cooper, H. B. Sorensen. T. D. Bca£, G. Scott, F. G. Norton, and 1. Andrew. Th© Inspector-General wrote apologising for having inadvertantly written to the matron of the Hospital direct with regard to th© staffing of tho Hospital. Tho following were appointed to the honorary dentai staff:— h\ C. A'Court, H. K. Allison, J. S. Atkinson.. H. P. V. Brown. R. C. Williamson, S. East, K. H. Fountain. S. H. Jones. Mears, W. S. Seed, C. W. S.ymour, A. C. Suckling, li. E. Suckling. D. E. Thomas, W. J. Ward, and J. Morgan. It was agreed to do everything possible for soldiers requiring dental attention, and to refer back to the Hospital Committeo the question of nurses £oing on active service and their positions on the staff. A deputation consisting 0 f Messrs R. H. Taylor and A. Hassell. representing over 1000 members of the Rechabito Order in the Canterbury district, waited on the Board to ask if th© Beard would be willing to give the Order of Rechabites the same privileges as regard to hospital treatment as is given t 0 the Order by the Auckland Hospital Board, j The matter was referred to the Hospital Committee. koura County Council had agreed to give £250, pound for pound, lor the erection of a maternity ward at the Kaikoura Hospital. . ■ Mr W. H. Cooper gave notico of motion that lie would move at th© next meeting of the Board: "That the families receiving charitable aid at tho present timo shall receive extra rations to tho extent of lpi per cent, increase during the war."
