DESERTERS' STORIES.
DEMAND FOR PEACE. GERMAN OFFICERS KILLED. (By C_M«.—Prees A»«oci-tion.—Cop-mrfii.) SOFIA, July 26. Turkish deserters state that there is a strong demand for peace. Turkish officers and men all consider that thero is no chanco of success. Four German officers shot at a group of soldiers who wero leaving tho firing line. A Turkish officer and his men immediately killed the Germans. Colonel yon Leipzig was killed under similar circumstances. The reserve of troops in the Chataldja linos under General yon Sanders, mutinied, and Enver Pasha had to intervene, and finally 6ent the troops to tha interior, replacing them by mon from Asia Minor. SUBMARINES ACTIVE. AMMUNITIONSHIP SUNK. LONDON, July 26. Mitylen© reports state that British submarines 6ank two barques laden with ammunition in the Sea of Marmora, and entered the Golden Horn, but failed in an attempt to sink a destroyer lying at a quay.
