Rush wrote from the Dardanelles thanking the Court for placing J him on the honorary mcinb-rs' list. Bro. VV. E. Inglis, D.S.C.K., reported having atj tended a meeting of delegates from , other ' friendly societies, to consider tho question • ! of payment of sick pay for members ot the • front, and that it wa_- decided to pay all j claims upon the production of sick cards. It was resolved to invite Court Quocn of Can--1 terbury to • a social evening on August 30t_. Bro. 1.. A. Scott, P.C.R., installed the newlyelected" officers, and was afterwards presented I with a framed certificate and nock ribbon,'in 1 recognition of his past een-ices whilst -holding: the office of Chief Ranger. , BERRY'S PRIVATE BA2CD. Tho annual, meeting .of Berry's Private Band was hold on Tuesday. There w_a an " attendance of thirty-three- members, the prej sidont, Mr J. Cotton, occupying the chair. In submitting his report, the chairman congratulated tho hand' on its continued progress, the past season having been one of lbbest,' both from a " playin-j-and financial point of view, in the band's history. Besides other engagements, the band had given itservices free- of charge on twenty-two ceca--ions for patriotic and military functions. During tho year tho bund had 'ost the services of the-" treasurer, Mr A. E. Brisiowe, i who had answered his country's cell and | joined the Reinforcement?. Attendance stars t v.-ere gained by the following men:— A. E. j Bristo-ve, S. Stewart, K. Ilutton. W. Smith, R. Kirk. E. "Waltefie'd. H. Chaplin, and A. I Hrrst. Tho treasurer's report showed receipt-- £465' ISs Dd. and expenditure Jf36o 3s i'-d, leaving a credit balance of £105 15s. The 1 assets were £709 is Cd. and 'be liabilities nil.
