Despite the inclement . weather, the Theatro was well filled, . and. judging by the applause accorded ■ to tho various films, tlio audienco was : highly appreciative of tho demonstrai tion given of "The Fighting Forces of Europe,'' both in peace and war, and, glimpses of their respective countries, i now devastated by the relentless hand ;of war. The screening of the various . scenes was materially assisted hy the lecturer, Mr John Goodall, and his ; humour at tho expense of the German i Army "was not lost on the audience. I Prominence, of course, was given to the , British forces, especially the spectacu- • lar sido of army life, tho review of tho [ troops at T>elhi by King George, the • review of Egyptian troops by Lord ■ Kitchener, and various full-dress par- > ades being effectively presented, al- , though scenes depicting tho sterner sido 1 of army work ware not lacking, such - as the mobilisation of tho troops, mii fantry on the march in France, trans- ■ port "of ammunition, and many othor ■ subjects of vitai interest at tho pre- * sent timo. Tho vocal numbers of Miss ■ Thorn Simpson, ''Your King and Cbuul try "Want You" and "Knitting," af- ) forded pleasing interludes to the programme.
