ARTILLERY RESERVE.
Ths Christchurch "Field Artillery Reserve held a parade at tho King Edward Barracks on Thursday evening, Capi tain Cliniic in command. A very interesting lecture was given by Corporal Milling of the E Battery, •on the duties of specialists, deraoni strating by blackboard the methods of i mapping out country 'for strategical ! purposes. Tho range-taker's duties wore i also explained, and a very clear demon 7 stration methods adopted was i given by Cor_>oral Millar. '• . At tlio conclusion of tho lecture a ■ hearty voto of thanks was accorded ' Corporal Millar. ' The Battery were then instructed in : foot drill by Section-Commander Otley. : In order to organise tho Battery on 1 a working basis, and b_vo the duties - of gunners, drivers, signallers, rango- ; takers, etc., specialised, it will be neces- ' sarv to increase the membership, and '" the Battery invite applications from * men with any previous military train- : ing.
