TRAM RIDES FOR WOUNDED SOLDIERS.
TO THK SDITOS OF "THE PRESS.*' Sir, —Permit me> to suggest to the Tramway Board, through .toot columns, that it wonld bo a most graceful action ] on th© Board's part to grant to oar returned wounded soldier lads a free pass, say for the first two weeks of their return. Many of these brave lads wonid greatly appreciate—and benefit by—an outing or two on our trams, especially thoso who live outside the city, and to whom tram fares are a big consideration. Many were to be met yesterday who had little or no cash, and being unable to walk any distance, were corupelled to borrow tram fares to enable them to visit the relatives of boys at the front who charged them with messages for their d«ar ones at home. A3 a ratepayer 1 am quite prepared to bear my small share of the cost.— Yours, etc.. COMMUXI CONCENSU. ' Christchurch, July 20th. 1915.
