DIED A PRISONER.
CHRISTCHIIRCH RESIDENT'S BROTHER. Mr W. J. Ives, of the Oxford Hotel, Christchurch, has received news from his sister concerning his brothers who wore serving in Flanders. "Poor Percy," she says, "has been killed at the front. He was wounded, we think, in the battle of Yprcs, and then ho was captured and taken as a prisoner to a. hospital at Rhyri. Germany, where he died ouite peacefully, and was buried properly in a cemetery that has been dedicated for those that fall for their I country. The. German surgeon sent a very sympathetic letter to poor mother and also .his" death eortifieato." It might be mentioned that of K5 in' tho family this is the first death that has occurred among them. "Writing concerning another brother iii the Forces, Mr Ives\s sister says: "Harold has recovered from his wound in the arm and gone back to Chatham, where he will be stationed for a time." Details; are nUo given concerning two ether brothers in the British Forces who had j nor then departed for the front. '
