PURCHASE OF HORSES.
(Received July 22nd, 8.15 p.m.) MEL-BOURNE.. July 22. Since the commencement of tho war, the Defence Department has purchased !?S,OSS horses for the Expeditionary Forces, of which-6000'are still in Australia, at a cost of £500,965.
