HEIGHTS GAINED AND TRENCHES TAKEN. (Received July 23rd, 1.30 a.m.) ROME. July 22. An official statement says:—''Fighting on the Isonzo is more intense. *\Ve gained part of a line of heights commanding Gorizia, and bridges. -There was bitter fighting in the Carso Plateau, ivhero we captured somo trenches, taking 3170 prisoners in three days. . Prisoners state that the Austrian losses were very severe.''
