MENINGITIS PATIENTS.
LIGHT AND AIRY QUARTERS. (SPECIAL TO "THE PU.«:SS."> WELLINGTON, July 22. It has been suggested that the meningitis patients at TreuthaJii arc housed in dark, ill-ventilated quarters under the racecourse grandstand. -Tho allegation is a somewhat serious one, because it is essential to tho successful treatment of meningitis that tho patients shall have as much sunlight and air as possible. ~«.. , . The Prime Minister stated tins evening that the etatcroent that tho patients were in the room under the frandstand was not correct. In actual act they were in the tea kiosk at Trenthara, which had been specially available for them. In this building, he said, the men could have lots of light and air.
