(MIE3S ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, JuLy 21. There was a large entry of cattle at Burnside to-day, 200 being yarded. Prime beef was eagerly competed for. as has been the case for a number of woeks, and satisfactory prices were obtained. The sale opened with prices 7s 6d below last week's rates, but values hardened as it progressed, until last week's level was reached. Prime bullocks made £14 to £15,55. to £16 10s medium £12 los to £13 10s, light £8 17s Gd to £10 7s 6d. orimo cows and beifens £10 os to £15 15?. medium £7 32s Gd to £9 os. Fat Sheep—Only were penned, made up ehiafly of ewes of fair to medium quality, with'a few hundred prime wethers. Competition was •prticularlv brisk throughout, butchers bidding with great freedom, and prices showed an advance of 2s 6d to 3s on last week's rates. Prime h3avy withers mad« 28-! 6d to 31s 3d. extra to 40s medium 24s 6d to 2Gs 9d. light 21s to 22s 9d. prime heavy ewes 2Ss 31 to 30s. extra to 35s 3d, medium 23r fid to 26s 9d, light and aged 16s to 20s 9d. . Fat Lambs—The entry totalled 1149, mostly of only medium quality, quit© a number of pens having tho appearance of having been in better condition v short time ago, and failing in condition from loss of teeth. Thore were a few pens of splendid quality, and these realised very satisfactory prices. Export buyers wero competing with more freedom, and prices advanced Is to Is 6d per head. Prime medium made 18s 6d to 20s, light and unfinished 14s 9d to 16s 6d. Pigs—There was a moderate yarding of fat pigs, and a fair number of stores and weavers. Porkers and baconers wero in good demand, and owing to tho small yarding, prices advanced. For good slips and etores thero was better competition at sjightlv improved values, but for suckers there was only moderate I demand.
