FARMERS' UNION.

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE.

The North Canterbury executive of tho Farmers' Union met yesterday, Mr G. Gardner presiding. A remit from the Waiau Union asking for nioro rolling stock for grain was referred to the Dominion Conference for favourable consideration Tho chairman and Messrs Benjamin and Horrell were appointed to represent' the Union afc a conference regarding the Addington saleyord6. The Canterbury Sheep ' Farmers' Union asked tho executive to appoint representatives to meet the Union to consider proposals with regard to chartering steamers to carry wool to Britain. Mr Leadley urged that any scheme adopted should include tho wholo of the Dominion-. It would not bo wiso to reveal what was being done at present. The moeting decided to reply that the -matter , would bp discussed by the Conference, and that the Farmers' Union would co-operate with, other parties in tho matter.
