THE VATICAN AND AIR RAIDS.
REPORTED PROTEST TO AUSTRIA. (Received June 18th, 6.20 p.m.) LONDON, Juno 13. Tho Vatican is alleged to have informed Austria of its abhorrence of aerial raids, adding that in the event of a raid on Rome, damaging Church dignitaries' property relations between the Vatican and Austria will bo interforod with. The Commissioner reports: — LONDON, Juno 17. Particular importance is attributed to the action in the Monte Nero zone by Alpine iroops to whom was entrusted the task of dislodging the enemy ambushes on the mountain side. The operation began at night, and after difficult climbing of rocks, ended at daybreak in an impetuous attack which, was crowned with complete success. At present 350 prisoners; including fourteen officers, havo been captured, and more aro coining in.
