(Received June 18th, ii.lo p.m.)
LONDON. June 17
The worlcmen from the works of Messrs Bcardmoro and Co., Ltd, who wore taken to France to see for themselves the conditions of warfare in the tionchos. have returned to Glasgow. They are telling their fellow-workers that it is a case of "shells and more shells," and that there must be no stoppage of work from any cause whatever. What they saw in tlie trenches was; awful.
A message from London received last Sunday stated that eight work, men from Messrs Wm. Beardmore and Co.'s works, with the organising delegates of the Amalgamated Society of Engineers, had gone to the front for n week to see the soldiers' actual needs. This visit is likely to be-fol-lowed by others from different centres villi a "view to stimulating the output of munitions.
