SUCCESS IN GALICIA.
ENEMY DRIVEN ACROSS THE DNEISTEB. LARGE CAPTURES. ATTACKS REPULSED AT OTHER POINTS. PETROGRAD, Jane 11. An official statement says: — "Wβ drove back on Thursday to the right bank of the river Dneister strong forces of the enemy which had crossed to the left bank noar Zurawna, end extended to Siwkan. The enemy sustained heavy losses, and wo captured seventeen guns, 49 machine-guns, 188 officers, and 6500 Austro-German 6oldiers, including an entire company of Prussian Guards." PETROGRAD, June 12. An official statement says: — "Tho enemy's repeated determined attacks westward of Shavli were repulsed, the er.omy leaving piles of kill-ed and wounded in front of out trenches. Wo took five hundred men and captured guns find mitrailleuses on tlie left bank of tho Dubissa. » "The enemy continued to make fruitless attacks in tho Mosciska region (east of Przemysl). Wβ continued on W«3nesday night to press the enemy between the -Tysmioaica and Siwka rivers, capturing many prisoners, quickfirers, and other booty. The enemy with a view to covering his retreat, despatched an armoured train, and five armoured motor-cars in rapport of his infantry towards Stryi and Mikolaieff. Ou r accurate gunfire compelled them, to mako a rapid retreat. In this action the head of oar column of infantry, which had developed an energetic offensive, captured the whole fifth company of the Seventy-ninth Austrian Regiment. "The enemy, in his defeat on ihe left bank of Dneister sustained especially severe losses in tho Prussian Guards. Wo captured ten guns and eighteen mitrailleuses. "Tho enemy's attacks on the bridgehead near Halicz compelled, us to modify our front occupying the Pru£h lino. In the course of this operation we abandoned Stanislawow. W© repelled Gorman attacks at Podhigic and captured a, thousand men further south." The High Commissioner reports: — LONDON, Juno 11 (12.40 p.m.) In the Shavli region, on both shores of Lake Rakiewo, on Tuesday and Wednesday, German attacks were repelled. On the right bank of the Pilica (in Poland) small enemy forces made an attack, which was repelled, and scores were made prisoners. On the Bolechowe-Bukaszowce front, the enemy was completely defeated, being thrown "across tho Dneistor, and losing sovefely. Ten guns and eighteen mitrailleuses and a number of prisoners were captured. In the direction of Stryj the Russians made elovon hun*dred prisoners.
