THE "WEEKLY PRESS."
The "Weekly Press* continues the portraits of New Zealanders killed
or Wounded at the Dardanelles, and this week's issue brings the total number published to over 700. In addition there aro many soul-stirring photographs of fighting on the various fronts, and a newlyobtained portrait of Sir John French :s given. The portrnits of the New Zealanders who have received birthday and other honours also appear. As a pendant to the war pictures is the opening of '•The Press Miniature Rifle Club's range on the roof of the Christchurch Press Company's building. Locally there is much that is interesting, especially the two pages of magnificent pictures of the Kaiapoi Belgium Carnival, with groups of tho Queen candidate*, the unique Maori scenes, and the Coronation. The Canterbury Park Trotting Club's Wiivti-r Meeting at Plumpton •»• allotted a full page of pictures, in which ali the principal features of the first day are seen. The literature is bright and topical, among the short stories being "The Major «;f-Lancers." ar.d "llie Escapade of Pansy.'' All the other sec- ■ tious are well filled with timely and use- j ful articles. The Usue is one which upholds the niana of the "Weekly Press/and will assuredly be a rapid seller.
