NEW BRIGHTON RESERVES.

«O THE EDITOR OP "THE PHESS." Sir,—The- letter of tho President of the Now Brighton Progress League calls perhaps for explanation. Mr Holland, a candidate of the League, at the candidates' meoting, is reported as follows: "The borough had nearly 500 acres of reserves, and a largo sum of money could be raised from these reserves. Hβ suggested that the people should have a long lease of them for building purposes." Under these circumstances, I think it was justifiable to infer that the alienation of parts of the reserves was a plank in the League'?, platform. It is very satisfactory .to find, that this is not so.—Yours, etc., • ELLEN VICKERS HOWELL. April 24th.
