KILLINCHY.
Tlit< continued dry spoil is being viewed with considerable alarm as the days pass by. Farmers are now feeling the pinch, and to keep iho stock from falling off in condition, turnips and other root crops are briny fed to stock almost three months before they should under ordinary conditions. Most of the land that is to bo put into crop has had a complete cultivation. A large area that was more or less full of twitch has had the chain harrow at work, and then burnt off. What is needed is a good rain to enable derp ploughing to be proceeded with. In several parts of the district potato digging is being proceeded with. Owing to very conflicting reports in regard to the yield for the present season, it can be safely said that the output from the Killinchy district will not behalf it was last year. In places where the frost cut the tops down, there are very disappointing returns. Several paddocks, however, kept their green appearance, and will turn out well. The potatoes arc clean and no blight is reported. At the close of the Presbyterian Sunday school last Sunday, occasion was taken to present the scholars with the prizes won by them. Special prizes were awarded to Muriel T>awson, in the senior class, and to Eva Mcllraith and W. McTlraith, for best attendance during the year. The prizes were presented by Miss Lowry.
