MEETINGS AND SOCIALS.
SEAMEN'S INSTITUTE. A meeting of the Sumner Guild of the Seamen's Institute was held in the Sumner Borough Council Chambers (by kind permission of tho Mayor) yesterday afternoon, when Mrs G. W. C. Smithson presided. The medibeie have decided to give a concert and supper to the seamen at Lyttclton on the first Thursday in May, and Mrs I. Wilson and Mrs C. A. E. Ferguson have undertaken to arrange the programme.
