The deaths have occurred in Sydney of Sir W. P. Manning, four "times Lord of Sydney, ajid Mr John Wheeler, Past. Grandmaster of the .Loyal Orange Institution. The enquiry into the loss of the "Federal trawler Endeavour has opened. - ' An ex-captain and an ex-engineer gave evidence that with a beam or following sea the trawler took a lot of water on board. Her centre of gravity was too high. At tho inquest on Baron de Reuter, who committed suicide through grief at . -the sudden death of his wife, a verdict of "temporary insanity" was found. The ovidenco allowed, that the Baron spent many hours beside, his wife's body. When the undertaker arrived ho went to his study, and wrote a letter '"to the -spirit of my. dear Wife," desiring that the letter-be placed in her coffin. In this letter he said he was .- to bo buried in , her gi*ave. Ho thon shot himself in a summeKhouse, to which his dog led a gardener ~ when search was being made for Kirn.
