ASHLEY

On Tuesday evening the residents of Ashley assembled in the.schoolroom to make" a presentation to Miss Booker, the occasion being her approaching marriage. Miss Booker has for many years been organist and Sunday school teacher itt St. Simon and St.* Jude's Church at Ashley, and her services have been gratefully appreciated. Tho Rev. Herbert East," vicar, on behalf of tho parishioners, and of others in tho district, "presented to Miss Booker a case of cutlery a case of'spoons, and a teacher's Bible. The Sunday school children also provided a little gift in the form of a bread platter and knife and a pair of bowls. Mrs Arthur Lilley sent a pair of jam dishes. The evening passed very pleasantly iv games ahd. music.
