The correspondent of "The Times" with the- Huseians telegraphs: "The most orofcuncl believers,, in prohibition never imagined how far-reaching would be the benefits of the prohibition of vodka. It has increased efficiency. This was first evidenced by the promptness of the array mobilisation. During a period when money has been tight the deposits in the savings banks have enormously increased. It is impossible to buy even a glass of beer at any hotel or restaurant. 1 have not seen in six months one, tipsy officer or soldier. At one .stroke Kussia freed herself from a enrse which had paralysed her peasant life tor generations. This is nothing short of ;» revolution. Graft and corruption have been stamped out in the army service, and the improvement in the "organisation has added comfort to the soldier's life, resulting in the highest moral."
