SUMMARY AND FORECAST.

Mr D. C. Bates, Government Meteorologist, supplied the following weather summary and forecast at 5 p.m. yesterday:— . The barometer rose everywhere during the night, but. has fallen again slightly in ■ tho routh to-day, showing an extension of the storm area.' Strong west to south-westerly winds have ruled, and the skies have been cloudy to overcast, with rain in many parts.
