SUMMARY AND FORECAST.
Mr D. C. Bates, Government Meteorologist, supplied the following weather summary and forecast at 5 p.m. yesterday:— . The barometer rose everywhere during the night, but. has fallen again slightly in ■ tho routh to-day, showing an extension of the storm area.' Strong west to south-westerly winds have ruled, and the skies have been cloudy to overcast, with rain in many parts. Present indications arc for unsettled, cloudy and colder weather, with rain probable generally Tlia barom-ter is unsteady, with a rising tendency. Expect high westerly to south-westerly winds. ?■
