NEW BRIGHTON RIVER CARNIVAL.

Arrangements in connexion with the New Brighton Red Cross River Carnival to bo held on Saturday next, are well in hand, and the programme of events that has teen drawn up should injure a large attendance of the public. Several novelties have beep arranged for -md include a special programme of 'aquatic events by the members of the Brighton Power Boat Club and the Surf Club.. ~.,'-,, , The various ladies committees who havo in hand the produce flower, afternoon tea. and tobacco stalls, have been very energetic .and tho result is a Hrco variety of goocte. the proceeds from which will all go to the fund. A full evening's amusement is provided for. and an open-air concert by leading Christchurch amateurs will b*o fiven. A ladies' nail-driving competition hat-trimming for men, and a blindfold boxing match are among the many attractions.
