Patrick Sullivan, with a record of noarly a hundred convictions for drunkenness, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, and a prohibition order issued against hire. REMANDED. James Porter, on a charge of vagrancy, was remanded for a week. Domenico Morelli, on a charge, of breaking and entering with intent to commit a crime, was also remanded for a week. BY-LAW BREACHES. For cycling on the footpath, George Metealf was fined 7s and costs. For cycling at night without lights, 11. J. Howie. R. Day, and Geo. Gamble wore each fiued 10s and costs. It. Jagger was fined 10s and costs for riding a motor-cycle at night without a light. Leonard. Coop was fined 20s and costs for driving.a motor-car along Lincoln road, Addington, at a dangerous speed. For leaving a motor-car in the Street without lights at night, A. E. Moore wa s fined 10s and costs. ABUSING A TEACHER. . Stanley P. Hearn was charged with Using abusive language towards Albert Charles Alaxwell. Sub-Inspector Hastie said the charge was laid under Section 107 of the Education Act, 1914. On February 11th Mr Maxwell, headmaster of the Beckenham School, while in the school grounds was abusyd by the accused, who was driving past, with" another boy. and shouting out "Maxwell, you're a waster." ' • The boy did not appear, but his father, who was present, stated that the. youth went to apologise the following Wednesday. Complainant he considered the matter too serious' to be allowed to rass. As sccretaiy to the Teachers' Institute, he took the attitude that the teachers were entitled to erery protection. The Bench expressed tb« same opinion, and a fine of 2Qs and costs was imposed. BITTEN BY A DOG. Hermann Aeehdff was charged with being the owner of a dog which attacked and bit a small boy. A fine of 20s and ooste" was inflicted. ASSAULT. John Michael Gearsehowski (Mr Malley), who bore signs of rough usage in the shape of a swollen and discoloured right eye. charged Joseph Dunick (Mr Cassidy) with assault on February 26th, and asked for sureties of the peace. Dunick "also claimed sureties against Gearsehowski. Each was ordered to find a surety of £50 to .keep'the-peace. DISMISSED. , James Di<*gs was charged with- assaulting Gearsehowski. The ease was dismissed.
