POOR OF BRITAIN AND BELGIUM FUND.
A meeting of the General Committee of the Poor of Great Britain, Ireland, and Belgium Pnnd will be held on Saturday in the A. and P. Association's rooms at noon. The principal business will bo the consideratioTi of further efforts in connexion with tho fund.
CONCERT AND SALE OF .WORK AT LITTLE RIVER,
The following is the result of the concert and sale of work Lad fcl Little River on New Year's Eve in aid of the Britain and Belgium Fund. The function was organised by the Girls' Friendly Society, and woe carried through very succeeefully. The concert was held first, most of the items being given by members of the G.F.S. After the concert several competitions and a sale of work were held, A dance concluded a vexy successful function:— * c. d. Takinge at the d<»or - -.953 Work Stall .. .. .. Colombus .. 2 1 6J Total •• •• .. £24 18 6 Several donations brought the amount up to £25, which has been remitted to the secretary. Tho following were.the stallholders:—Work stall, Mrs Humphries, Misses Banks, Chapman, .Wright, and Clark; soft drinks and sweets! Misses Keed, Radford, Birdling, and Colombus; bran tub. Misses Vanstcae; refreshments, Mra GiJlman, Paul, and Priest; competitions, Mre Crockett. Tha musical programme • was under the direction of Mies Bessie Stanbury. The following were the winners -of competitions:— Cake-guessing, Mrs Gillman; table centre, L. Joblin: cushion, A. Jones; potato-peeling, Mr Wilson; hat-trimming, Sir Jno. Coop. The judges of the hat-trimming were Mrs Thompson, Mre Aitken, and Miss Coop.
