DELHI, January 8. .In reply to their letters announcing tho outbreak of war with Turkey and the. British occupation of Basra, political agents in the Persian Giilf have received most cordial expressions of loyalty and devotion to tho British cause from tho Sheikhs of Bahrein and Koweit, tho Sultan of Muskat, the chief •of Kolir, and other chiefs.
Tho news of the British success at t'Baisra caused unqualified joy among : th© Gulf Arabs generally.
