The hearing of the summonses charging J. Lyons and Company with gelling unsouud meat as food for the troops •-uartered at the White City, for whom defendants were catering, was adjourned for a fortnight, after preliminary evidence had been taken.
. Counsel ior the prosecution stated that the charges involved a searching enquiry into the conditions under which the defendants carried out their contract.
Tho prohibition of the export of tea has been removed, and the export of cocoa to certain European countries has been prohibited.
