RANGIORA MARKETS.
The heavy rain experienced yesterday affected the attendance at the markets. Although it was advertised as a double sak), on account of the Christmas holidays, the number of entries were very much below the average. There was a poor demand for sheep, several lots being passed in. The following are the quotations:—Fat owes 17s 3d to 20s, fat wethers 19s lid, fat lambs 17s 3d to 20s, store wethors 13s 7d, hoggets 13s 9d. Tiffs—Eaconers 50s to 60s. stores 16s to 275, smalls 5s to 11s. Fat heifers £5 12s 6d to £8 10s, fat cotts £6 10s to £9, springers £5 to £8, yearlings £2 to £2 10s, threeyear steers £6 10s. In the produce yards the following prices wore realised: —Heavy crossbred" skins 6s - sd, medium 5s 9d, lighter 4s 6d, merinos 4s, pelts Iβ'6d, calf ekins 2s, hides 5Jd lb. horsehair 9d, fleece wool 9d. pieces s*'d, black wool ssd; fat ljd. Poultry—ltoosters 5s a couple, hens 3s pair, ducks os, geese 8s 9d, chick wheat os 6d bushel, oate 3s, grass seed 3s, bran 6s 9d sack, sharps 10s 6d, pigmeal Bs, peameal 10s, oatsheaf chaff 4« Gd, straw ditto Is 6d, potatoes 6s, new potatoes 3d lb.
