TUESDAY, DECEMBER, 20. "At a meeting held at the Maori village. Kaiapoi. the Right Key. the Bishop of Christchureh in the chair, it was resolved to commence at once the erection of a church. The sum required to bo raised is £200. to be met by an equal sum from tho Provincial Treasury. The sum of £40 was collected during the meeting, which, added to £102 previo Us i v collected and already lodged in.the bank, leaves a balance of £j» to be raised before auy- , thing can bo done."
