HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS
To cope with th© ■ extra passenger traffic of the Christinas and New Year holidays tho Union Company has arranged for tho following steamers to' leavo Lyttelton in addition to - the usual forry steamers Maori and Wahine. To-morrow (Tuesday) (a day ahead of time-table) the Paloona will arrive from Dunedin and sail for the North upon arrival of the train leaving Christcliurch at 5.20 p.m. On Wednesday tho Moeraki will sail upon arrival of the 0.20 p.m. train from Christchurch. and, if the traffic warrants it, the Monowai will leave at tho samo time. Tho service on Thursday, December 24th. and tho following day will be the same as usual, and on Saturday the. Wahine. leaving at usual hour, and the Monowai, sailing upon arrival of the train leaving town at 10.30 p.m., will be the North steamers. The next alteration will tako placo on Wednesday, December 30th, the Manuka arriving from Sydney and Wellington in the morning—a day earlier than usual-—arid sailing on her return the same evening upon tho arrival of tho 5.20 p.m. train froni Christchurch. The Warrimoo, en route to Melbourne, will act as the additional ferry steamer on Thursday, the 31st instant, and, if necessary, will return on Saturday, January 2nd, and go North again the same evening.
