RED AND BLACK ASSOCIATION. A social evening was held in the Red anS ' Back Association's rooms on Saturday night, when the prizes won in the McCully Cup Competitions this acaeon were presented. A notable feature is that the three • winnere of the cup aince it was donated ore away with the Expeditionary Forces, viz., Mc sera M. O. Moore, E. H. Browjilee, and the present holder, Mr R. F. Gudgeon. The pnze-win-nora during the season are Sβ follow:—440 yarde, R. F. Gudgeon 1, T. N. Wallace 3; "Go-aa-you-pleaae race round Hagley Park: A Greenfield 1, E. V. Phillips 2; Go-as-yon-pleaee race on Cashmere Hals: R. F. Gudgeon 1, E. V. Phillips 2; eocond Go-ae-you-pkase race on lulls: T. Waddell 1, E. V. Phillips 2. Musical iteme were contributed during the evenintr by Messrs W. Jonee, T. Lawrenoe, E. V. Phillips, J. A; Jewell, L." J. Rowley and R. J. Hobbs. Numeroue taaets were honoured, chief among them being ■Members Away with Iho Expeditionary Forces, "The Ch : etchurch Football Club," and "Donor of McCully Cup." WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN TEMPERANCE UXION. I The annual meeting of the Women's Chrietian Temperance Union was presided over by Mrs J. McCombs. The concluding social function in corcnesion with the or!<ib--< : on of the Jubilee of the Duiham etrert β-thodist Church took tho form of aga • >irty held on Saturday afternoon in the ' t ful grounds of "Riverlaw," the rceidenc- af Colonel G. J. Smith, Opawa. The ga,rd.a and lawns were looking tlieir best, and were • greatly admired by the large numbern who attended the gathering. Many of those present had been connected with tho Durham street Church since its Tetableliment, and the recollections of some went etill further back. The afternoon was devoted to conversation, lightened by afternoon ts-a, and alternated with bowla and other games. All present thoroughly enjoyed the outing in euch pleasant eurroundings, and expressed their app eciatioq of Colonel and Mrs Smith's kindn<es in placing "Rivorlaw" at the disposal of those rcaponeible for the Jubileo arrangementa.
