AVOIDING CONTENTIOUS
LEGISLATION
LONDON, November 30. Leading Tirwana Chiefs of tho Sherpur district of tho Punjab offered to raise and maintain three hundred men whenever they are required. - The Government of India, following the example of tho Imperial Parliament, will omit, as far as possible, all Bills of a contentious nature from its legislative programme during tbo cold weather.
