LONT>ON. November 20. The New Zealand Txian and Mercantile Company's profits for tho year total £121.724. Dividends at the rate of •> per cent, have been declared [on preference and ordinary shares.ln view of the abnormal conditions created by the war and the drought in Australia, and with a view to making special provision, which may be avoidable next year, for reserves and premises account, with money from the liquidation of the New Zealand Land Association, which has been practirallv completed, and will exceed last year's estimate, the directors decided to carry forward the whole of the Ivilance — £00,279.

Limited, has received a cable message from its London office advising that the company will hold its annual meeting in London on the 10th prox. After providing a further £5000 towards the staff benevolent fund, tho amount available, including £14.238 carried forward, totals £146,454. The directors recommend tho payment of a dividend of 5 r>er cent, per annum on. cumulative preference stock (half of which was paid in .Tune lost), also a dividend of 5 per cent, on ordinary stock, and . that £55.279 be carried forward. Tho company's reserves at present total ; £284,203.
