Mr Hiram Hunter addressed a largo feathering of railway workers at the Addington Workshops at midday yesterday. Mr F. C. Ellie presided. It was moved by Mr V. Fraser, and seconded by Mr H. SV. McKcown, "Thar .1 hearty yoto of thanks bo acoorded the candidate for his address, ami that this meeting expresses its confidence in Mr Hunter and theothsr .Social Democrats standing on behalf ot the party, and that all present pledge themselves to do all in their power to secure their election." This was carried, and three cheers wero given for the candidate. Mr G. D. Maefarlane. Government candidate for Christchurch East, will speak at Ditford's Hall. Walt-ham road, on Monday night, and at tho East Cbristohurch school on Tuesday night. Mr Hiram Hunter, Labour candidate for Christchurcli East, was given a cordial reception at a meeting he held at tho corner of Huxley and Montrose streets, Sydenham, la-st evening, Mr F. Lo Roy presiding. On £ho motion of Messrs Waterson and Ankens, ho was accorded a unanimous voto of thanks and confidence.
